Observing the shapes, colors, habits and seasons of the natural world has always been a part of my daily experience - birds at the feeder, winter ducks by the bay, motionless herons searching for food. I study these images and patterns routinely. I seek out opportunities to observe and study nature directly-whether banding raptors or caring for injured animals at a wildlife rescue center. These personal experiences add depth to my art.

I create, through my paintings, an opportunity for others to learn and understand what I know about my subjects. I paint the details as well as suggestions which help the observer focus on those aspects that I have found to be the essence of that creature-the majesty of an eagle, the whimsy of a puffin, the elegance of a heron. To be able to paint as well as communicate and educate others are, to me, gifts to be shared.

My work is available at a growing number of galleries, gift shops nature stores, birding catalogues and back yard birding centers across the country as well as directly through me via the website.

I am more than willing to discuss any of this work or other work I may have or will have in the future. Thanks for your interest.
